Places to visit

Roundhay Park is one of the biggest city parks in Europe and with over 700 acres of parkland it is a beautiful place to enjoy nature by taking a walk around or playing football, rugby, cricket and more  in the sports fields.

Leeds is home to the National Media Museum ,where you will get to explore the technology of today. Some exhibitions include their Animation Gallery in which you will get to explore the artwork and models of over 100 different animations and the TV gallery where you can look at how the TV revolution has developed through time.

The National Media Museum also has temporary exhibitions each month, and if you’re lucky you can take part in the games and events they hold.

Social Events

Leeds nightlife has something for everyone with many bars, clubs, sports bars, cafes and live music, you won’t want to stay in!

Each of the clubs have all sorts of music playing from techno, rock or pop and you can head down to the many live events around the town at either the smaller venues like The Stage or head to the First Direct Arena for a host of different bands.

If you’re not a fan of music or dancing, you could head to a sports bar like Roxy Ballroom where you still get the atmosphere just with the bonus of bowling. If you don’t fancy that you could head upstairs in Roxy Ballroom to play crazy golf at Swingers.

Vintage shops are all over Leeds , with lots of unique styles for people to choose from. Such shops include Blue Rinse and Pop Boutique. Head to some of the charity shops around town, to bag yourself a bargain.

Fairs are held each month where you can find gorgeous clothing or furniture items at incredibly low prices.

Leeds has something for the higher end shopper with the Victoria Quarter where you will be spoilt for choice. It is home to many designer shops such as Calvin Klein and Harvey Nichols.

If you would rather have all your shopping done at once, then you could travel down to the White Rose Shopping Centre which is only a ten-minute drive from the city centre.

Transport

The bus in Leeds is the main public transportation for residents as it is cheap, especially if you ask the driver for a First Day ticket costing £4.00 allowing you to travel on any First Leeds bus for the day after 9:30.

There is also a train that can take you around Leeds or for longer journeys to places like the airport.

Leeds Bradford Airport and Manchester Airport are less than one hour away from the city centre, so you can travel with ease to different countries or different parts of the UK in short haul flights to places like London, Southampton and Glasgow.
